This may seem easy enough but Cozy Grove is filled with delightful clutter - that is to say, there is details galore in their environment - foliage, furniture, creatures, just details everywhere you look. Frequently quests will send you on a hunt for objects that are found anywhere on the map, on the ground.

There is a hidden object element to this game. It is the very epitome of feel-good coziness and I never got tired of hearing the songs while I was playing. I love every single sound effect and every track in this game oozes charm. The music and sound - I can't say enough good things about the audio design on this game.

You also end up unlocking new decor items daily which I love, as I'm always eager to add more to my collection! I like this short, predictable gameplay loop as it keeps me motivated to log in each day but I also don't end up spending 8 hours in the game a day. You can also fish, catch bugs, or collect other things on the map for as long as you'd essentially like. You get quests from the spirit bear NPCs, and fetch items for them and then it "lights up" the area that spirit bear lives in. The gameplay loop! This game is time gated in real time so you'll have a loop that is generally meant to be done once a day. Honestly, I love the default appearance of most of what I've gotten so I don't use it much but I love that it's an option. There is also dye! You can dye the decor, which I think is an awesome feature. For instance, I have a very cute sort of playground set up on one area of the map just to add some more visual interest there. You aren't limited to just placing things inside your tent, you can set up interesting areas all over the map. Decorating is fantastic - there is a very large assortment of gorgeous items to use but you can use them essentially anywhere. They knock it out of the park on the visuals of this game - everything from the character, the clothes, the decor, the food, the foliage - all of it is adorable and has a sort of hand-drawn kind of charm to it. While you get different decor styles (for instance a "spooky" decor style, a "beachy" decor, a "cozy/cabin" decor style, etc) - and they certainly fit the aesthetic of the style they represent, they still mesh well overall within the game. Talk about one CUTE game - every aspect of it's visuals is cohesive and well done. I have always been a fan of AC, but I actually prefer the look of Cozy Grove and possibly the overall game play as well. I think it's Animal Crossing but if AC was from the Pacific Northwest. I adore the Cozy Grove aesthetic and feel. I highly recommend Cozy Grove if you love Animal Crossing, and even if you don't but you appreciate games where you collect things and design/decorate or if you just love cozy games.
